A call for volunteers

One of my favorite Boise events is back in person this year—SheTech. If you aren’t familiar, it’s a one-day career discovery day for high school girls. Professionals from around the community introduce high schoolers to STEM-related careers through lectures and hands-on workshops.

It’s a fun day for the students and a fulfilling day for those volunteering.

In years past, I’ve facilitated a couple workshops on ideation and storyboarding. At the end of each workshop, I’m just in awe of the creativity (and sense of humor) of the next generation.

Here’s a student’s storyboard from a few years ago…

The goal was to design something to remind students to get their work done. I want a Little Buddy.

The SheTech organizers are looking for volunteers. They currently have the biggest number of students showing up since the event started (over 400 so far) and they need some help.
