The little things add up
I’ve always been a fan of stop-motion animation. It’s timeless in a way that computer-generated animation just isn’t… have you watched the first Toy Story recently? It’s rough.
Laika, the Pixar of stop motion, has created some downright beautiful movies over the last couple decades including Kubo and The Two Strings and Coraline. This behind the scenes at the end of The Boxtrolls blows my mind. The work that went into a 20 second scene!
I wish there were more examples of this outside of Hollywood. How many hours did it take you to create that website? That app you launched took you how many weeks, months, years? That painting took how many iterations to get it just right.
Craftsmanship and process are interesting. They are selling points, in my opinion. We should tell people about them more often.
